3. Youth Innovation Pre-Summits

Where youth voices shape national transformation. These dynamic digital idea labs served as crucial preparatory events, bringing together a vibrant cohort of 4K/5K members, campus youth, and TVET students. The primary goal was to harness the innovative potential of Kenya's youth by facilitating collaborative co-creation sessions.

Participants engaged in ideation and problem-solving, developing solutions that directly align with TEJATI’s nationwide job creation and ecosystem goals. These pre-summits underscored the belief that Kenya's future is already speaking through its young innovators, and TEJATI is committed to listening and providing platforms for their ideas to flourish. The outcomes of these labs directly fed into the larger TEJATI scale-up initiatives, ensuring youth-led solutions are at the forefront of national development.

The pre-summits were structured around intensive design thinking workshops, hackathon-style challenges, and mentorship clinics. Young participants, often from underserved communities, were empowered to identify local problems and conceptualize innovative, technology-driven solutions. Expert facilitators guided them through the process of prototyping, validating ideas, and developing minimum viable products. The focus was not just on generating ideas, but on nurturing the entrepreneurial mindset and providing practical skills in areas like digital literacy, project management, and pitch development. These labs served as a pipeline for talent, identifying promising young innovators who would then receive further support and integration into TEJATI's broader programs, ensuring their ideas have the best chance of scaling and creating real-world impact.
